> Cotton lisle (mercerised cotton)

Lisle is a cotton yarn that has been processed to give it a smooth finish. This process is called mercerisation. It is a treatment for cotton yarn and thread that gives fabric or yarns a rich lustrous appearance and strengthens them.

> Egyptian cotton

Egypt produces the best cotton in the world. Soils in the Nile valley, well watered and rich in silt, bring together the ideal conditions to produce fibers for up to two times longer than any other, thus making a yarn of a very gentle, a remarkable flexibility and strength. > Merino wool

The Merino Sheep race produces the finest and softest wool in the world.

The secret to the softness of Merino Wool is its exceptionally fine fibres. Merino Wool fibres are extremely fine, enabling them to bend far more than traditional, coarser wool fibres. This makes Merino wool feel soft and luxuriously gentle next to your skin. Merino wool fibres can absorb large quantities of moisture vapour then move it away to evaporate into the air.

> Polynosique (cellulose)

DD uses this fiber in the sock 'Tripoli', the sock anti-perspiration. This innovative wood fiber absorbs until 30 % of its weight in water. So by absorbing the humidity of the foot, it is the freshness assured(insured) throughout the day. Particularly effective.

> Silk

This fibre has an animal origin. It’s a filament yarn obtained after reeling of cocoon produced by the larva of a butterfly. The yarn is thin, light, elastic and supple. The silk yarn is very bright. It is three times stronger than wool, with great softness. The silk fiber is highly absorbent: it can absorb up to 30% of its weight.

Polyamide (nylon - for comfort and reinforcement)

It is an extremely solid, resistant and also very flexible fiber. DD uses this exceptional fiber to strengthen its socks in strategic places, as points and heels.
