The yarns are made from fibres we have carefully chosen from among the best in the world, such as Egyptian cottons, cashmere, silks, etc.
QUALITY OF MATERIALS
The main quality criterion is the length of the fiber. The longest fibres are also the finest ones : this finesse guarantees good characteristics of the material.
The elements which determine the composition of a sock are adapted to the the end use of the product.
> Cotton lisle (mercerised cotton)
Lisle is a cotton yarn that has been processed to give it a smooth finish. This process is called mercerisation. It is a treatment for cotton yarn and thread that gives fabric or yarns a rich lustrous appearance and strengthens them.
> Egyptian cotton
Egypt produces the best cotton in the world. Soils in the Nile valley, well watered and rich in silt, bring together the ideal conditions to produce fibers for up to two times longer than any other, thus making a yarn of a very gentle, a remarkable flexibility and strength. Egyptian cotton is the reference material for the production of high-end fashion. If you love every day luxury, you will love Egyptian cotton
> Merino wool
The Merino Sheep race produces the finest and softest wool in the world.
The secret to the softness of Merino Wool is its exceptionally fine fibres. Merino Wool fibres are extremely fine, enabling them to bend far more than traditional, coarser wool fibres. This makes Merino wool feel soft and luxuriously gentle next to your skin. Merino wool fibres can absorb large quantities of moisture vapour then move it away to evaporate into the air. So Merino Wool clothing is extremely breathable and less prone to clamminess. Fibers composed of three times thinner than traditional wool, it is light, very warm, soft and does not "itch": that is why it is best for the socks of our babies! DD uses high-end precious wool, origin to Australia
> Cachemere
Cashmere is the most luxurious wool. This is the best material with a smooth and superb quality. Cashmere is an animal fibre, from the long and silky wool of the goat in the province of Kashmir. Cashmere is characterized by its fine, soft fibres. The material is highly durable and will last for years if cared for properly.
> Polynosique (cellulose)
DD uses this fiber in the sock 'Tripoli', the sock anti-perspiration. This innovative wood fiber absorbs until 30 % of its weight in water. So by absorbing the humidity of the foot, it is the freshness assured(insured) throughout the day. Particularly effective.
> Silk
This fibre has an animal origin. It’s a filament yarn obtained after reeling of cocoon produced by the larva of a butterfly. The yarn is thin, light, elastic and supple. The silk yarn is very bright. It is three times stronger than wool, with great softness. The silk fiber is highly absorbent: it can absorb up to 30% of its weight.
Polyamide (nylon - for comfort and reinforcement)
It is an extremely solid, resistant and also very flexible fiber. DD uses this exceptional fiber to strengthen its socks in strategic places, as points and heels.
Attention: not to confuse with acrylic.
> Elasthanne
DD uses elastane to improve the comfort of the socks.

5. Special occasions: Events such as Valentine's Day, Grandparents' Day or even a promotion at work are perfect moments to offer quality socks, symbolizing comfort and care.
6. Just to please: Giving socks for no particular reason, simply to please, is a delicate gesture. Choose patterns or colors that match the personality of the person you're giving them to.
Practical tip: For an even more special gift, opt for a box of socks Doré Doré, carefully selected to combine comfort, style and quality.
At Doré Doré, we know how essential it is to keep your feet warm during the colder months. Here are a few tips for choosing socks that will effectively protect you from the cold:
1. Merino wool socks: Merino wool is renowned for its exceptional insulating properties. It retains heat while wicking away moisture, keeping your feet dry and warm.
2. Cashmere socks: Cashmere is another natural fiber that offers luxurious warmth. Soft and lightweight, it's ideal for cold days when comfort is a priority.
3. Lined socks: For extra protection, opt for lined or quilted socks. They add an extra layer of warmth, perfect for extreme temperatures.
4. Thermal socks: Designed specifically to retain heat, thermal socks are an excellent option for those who spend a lot of time outdoors. They use special materials that trap body heat.
5. Fiber-blend socks: Wool, acrylic and nylon blends are common in winter socks. They offer a good compromise between warmth, comfort and durability.
Practical tip: To maximize warmth, make sure your socks are not too tight. Proper air circulation is necessary to retain heat, so choose a suitable size that doesn't compress your feet.
On March 21, wearing mismatched socks is more than just a fashion trend. It's a symbolic gesture in support of an important cause:
World Down Syndrome Day: March 21 marks World Down Syndrome Day. This day aims to raise awareness of this genetic condition and promote the inclusion of people with Down's Syndrome in society.
Symbol of diversity: mismatched socks symbolize the diversity and uniqueness of each individual. They remind us that, just as different socks can coexist, we need to celebrate and accept the differences between people.
A gesture of solidarity: By wearing mismatched socks, you show your support for people with Down's syndrome and their families. It's a small gesture that helps raise awareness of the cause and encourages acceptance.
Global participation: This initiative is being taken up worldwide, with millions of people choosing to wear mismatched socks on this day. This creates a community of solidarity and awareness, united around this cause.
Practical tip: To take part in this day, choose colorful and original Doré Doré socks, and share your support on social networks!
At Doré Doré, we know that the question of sleeping with socks is a divisive one. Here's what you need to know to make the best choice:
1. Improved circulation: Sleeping with socks can help regulate body temperature by promoting vasodilation, a process that keeps feet warm and improves blood circulation. This can help you fall asleep faster.
2. Temperature regulation: If you tend to have cold feet, wearing socks at night can help stabilize your body temperature and prevent night-time awakenings caused by the cold.
3. Feeling of comfort: For many people, socks offer a feeling of comfort and security during sleep. They can also protect feet from chafing or drying out, especially in winter.
Precautions: It's important to choose the right socks, made from natural fibers like cotton or wool, to allow the skin to breathe. Socks that are too tight can impede blood circulation and impair the quality of your sleep.
Practical tip: For optimum comfort, opt for socks made from merino wool or soft cotton, specially designed to provide warmth and breathability during the night.
