As you already know, there are many varieties of socks. Some are best worn during the colder seasons, others during the warmer ones.
To make the most of spring and summer days, Boulevard Doré advises you to wear women's or men's low socks Doré Doré. They go perfectly with women's dresses or men's shorts. Ideal for wearing with sneakers or converse, low-cut socks provide excellent summer comfort. These socks are almost invisible and will perfectly enhance your legs. Note, however, that with low-cut socks, some of the color will show through, so it's up to you to decide which color works best with your outfit.
High socks, on the other hand, are ideal if you want to cover your body. They're particularly popular in colder seasons, and go perfectly with a suit. You can also wear them with loafers, but don't forget the most important thing: the color of your high socks should always match your suit, so that when you sit down, everyone will notice the color. High socks are also ideal if you want to play sports, as they offer more comfort than a classic sock. For this, choose a thick model that will keep your feet perfectly in your shoes.
But among these socks, don't forget the must-have: the indoor sock. This sock is perfect if you don't want your feet to get cold, or if you don't like wearing slippers. They prevent swollen feet during particularly cold winters. So they're your best ally in keeping your feet warm. Some models have a non-slip sole to avoid the risk of falling. Simple models in cotton or thermo-regulating fabrics are preferable if you're a man. For women, on the other hand, we recommend models in wool or Scottish yarn with pretty colors, and for children, don't hesitate to opt for striped or fancy-patterned socks.
If your primary objective is comfort, you'll need to take into account the fact that some materials are more suitable than others. For starters, cotton is a classic in sock manufacturing. This comfortable material lets the skin breathe perfectly, and you'll appreciate the softness of cotton.
Scottish yarn, a famous cotton derivative, is stronger than its predecessor, but also much softer. Doré Doré Scottish yarn socks are more comfortable and breathable than classic cotton socks.
Wool is also a popular material, especially in winter, as it is natural, warm and insulating. However, caring for wool is more demanding than for cotton. Wool is best washed either by hand or by machine at 30°, which may cause the garment to shrink if the temperature is not right.
Cashmere is a noble material that is much appreciated for its softness and warmth. An excellent warmth-retaining material, cashmere is the ideal cotton to wear in winter.
It's important to choose the right sock height for each season. Different types of socks exist, and we're going to tell you all about them.
Invisible socks for men and women are discreet. They're popular in summer, and fit in perfectly with your outfits. While to the outside eye, the invisible sock may appear to be absent, it will at least have the merit of protecting your feet and preventing any burns or blisters.
The sock, different from the invisible one, goes all the way up to the bottom of your ankle, but is also worn in summer or spring. However, they can also be worn with a pair of sneakers in winter.
The low-cut sock is a must-have and the most common, stopping on average above the ankle. You can wear them anytime, with any style of footwear.
Medium-high socks are a classic, especially for men, but women are also fans. Known for its warmth, this sock goes up to the calf and is worn mainly in winter to counter harsh temperatures.
And last but not least, the tall sock, like the leg warmer, is a woman's story. High socks go all the way up to the knee, unlike leggings, which go all the way up to the thigh. They'll keep you warm in winter and give your legs the perfect shape.
The color you choose is essential, but above all a matter of taste. You can choose to match your socks to your style, the occasion or simply your mood. Of course, depending on your style, you can either opt for plain Doré Doré socks or DD fancy socks. If you're a classic dresser, you'll want to steer clear of color, favoring darker hues.
And don't hesitate to match your socks to your clothes. And if, on the other hand, you're a colorful dresser, then have fun varying the patterns and colors of your socks!
